WHAT'S THE BEST FABRIC FOR UNDERWEAR?

Unlike most clothing in our wardrobe, when it comes to underwear that is easy and comfortable to wear all day long, FABRIC should be the most important factor when deciding on the best underwear right after fit and design. Choosing natural materials over synthetics because these more organic options tend to be naturally antimicrobial, meaning they can kill or inhibit microorganisms. So instead of nylon or spandex, natural cotton and silk are the two most popular choices. Each is valued for its unique properties.

Cotton underwear offers a soft, skin-friendly feel that's gentle on your skin. It's breathable and wicks away moisture, providing excellent comfort. The downside is that while it's great at absorbing sweat, it tends to dry slowly. For those who tend to sweat, prolonged contact with damp fabric can cause problems such as redness, swelling and itching. Cotton underwear also becomes very stiff after being washed and often needs to be rubbed with your hands before it becomes loose. It is recommended that a pair of cotton underwear be used no more than 25 times.

In addition to the inherent benefits of softness, smoothness and comfort, silk is distinguished from cotton by its remarkable moisture absorbency and breathability, which helps to protect and hydrate the skin. Silk is 1.5 times more effective than cotton at moisture absorption and release, which it does quickly in humid conditions to reduce the potential for bacterial growth.

DAISYSILK crafts only exquisite 6A-grade pure mulberry silk, certified with MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®. This certification ensures that all our products are manufactured in environmentally and socially responsible facilities, without the use of harmful chemicals. We specialize in offering 100% mulberry silk underwear. The series includes thermal underwear set, panties, bras, camisoles and socks, all of which are designed to provide you with comprehensive care.

WHAT'S THE BEST FABRIC FOR UNDERWEAR?

When it comes to comfortable all-day underwear, consider fabric as the key factor, just after fit and design. Opt for natural materials like cotton and silk over synthetics due to their natural antimicrobial properties. Cotton is soft, gentle on the skin, and breathable but can be slow to dry, which may lead to discomfort for those who sweat. On the other hand, silk is known for its remarkable moisture absorption and breathability, preventing bacterial growth.

SILK THERMAL UNDERWEAR

Silk thermals are loved for their incredibly lightweight, breathable insulation and deliciously soft feel.

IS IT COMFORTABLE? Yep! Silk is the second-skin base layer you won't want to take off! It's ultra-soft and breathable, perfect for wearing directly against your skin, especially for those who are sensitive to the texture of fabrics. Because they’re hypoallergenic and antimicrobial, they won’t be itchy or irritating to your skin, won’t smell, and can be worn over and over.
IS IT WARM? Silk long johns provide warmth due to its natural insulating properties, which trap heat close to the body. It is both cozy and breathable, making it a comfortable choice for cold weather, helping you stay warm and dry.
HOW-TO TIPS Silk thermal underwear is the thinnest and lightest thermal fabric, making it ideal for temperatures between 0°C (32°F) and 15°C (59°F) as a base layer. You'll barely feel them under your clothes. They fit perfectly, keeping you warm but not too warm, and are easy to hand wash and quick to dry. Highly recommended for daily wear indoors, paired with silk shirts or cashmere sweaters, or for travelers in cold climates.

I love the Extra Warmth Women's Silk Thermal pants! They feel so nice on my skin and are very warm without getting overheated because of the breathable silk. I have been wearing them under my work dress pants and they do not add any bulk. The waistband is thin but comfortable. I used the size guide and the fit is perfect. I especially like that they are long in the leg which keeps my ankles warm in boots. I am definitely going to buy the coordinating top.

Very soft and warm. I was initially worried about the quality, but they've held up well in the wash and keep me toasty at night.

The fabric weight of this item made me think it wouldn't keep me very warm. I was wrong. It works great.

Went to the mountains to see the snow. These were perfect! I wore them under my clothes. They worked out very well for temperatures near zero.
